Prato Municipality has now started using the ROUTE-TO-PA platform (SPOD/TET)
The Prato Municipality is now launching the first pilot activity open to all interested citizens.
The SPOD/TET platform will be tested in the definition of new locations for the upgrade of the free wifi network in the city that the administration is carrying out. Citizens are invited to register on the platform and to participate in discussions on the topic by proposing new datasets on possible hot-spot locations. Datasets will be built through the co-creation functionality available on the platform and the most interesting proposals will be included in the wifi network enlargement.
The pilot will be a very interesting opportunity to test the SPOD/TET functionalities and to improve citizens’ awareness on open data and their relations with the public administration, buit also to identify other contexts where the SPOD/TET platform could be fruitfully adopted.
On Monday 14th of November, from 10.00 to 13.00 an event and a press conference was organised in the City Hall to present the pilot to a group of users representing some of the relevant stakehoders: students and professors from the Istituto Tecnico e Professionale Statale Dagomari, business associations, data journalists, CoderDojo organisers. The Route-to-PA coordinator presented the SPOD/TET platform and the Deputy Mayor introduced the pilot objectives. Participants were also invited to disseminate the pilot initiative and many other possible contexts for the platform use were also discussed.
